Why do we count links instead of domains?

Dear Yacies,

why do we measure our volume in the number of indexed links instead of the number of domains?

Having a full index of wikipedia is nice, but it’s a verrrry deeep hole. As long as wikipedia has a lot of interesting content, it’s fine.

Half of the time I spend with YaCy I manage SEO spammers trying to fill my index.

What is your experience?
Cheers

Markus

link = number of documents.
If you count domains you get an unclear metric. You already gave the example: crawl wikipedia and you have millions of links, but only one domain.
