If you wish to have a cheap, rented VPS to run a public instance of YaCy, where the general public may run searches, fewer resources are better.
To support the cheap, rented, off-site VPS, your high performance computer at home could be used to run the crawls and build the indexes, but not have a publicly searchable webpage.
Could you easily “transport” the work from the home computer and easily upload it to the remote VPS and add it to that machine’s publicly searchable index?
If the VPS is not running any crawls, what would be the process to add additional work that has been completed?
How could you identify and isolate from previous crawls the new additions to the index?
Does anybody who ran a publicly searchable instance before have any advice or suggestions on how to do it well?
